APPOINTMENTS
Choose the right route for you
If you know which appointment or clinician you need, you can book directly. If you are unsure, send an enquiry and our team will help identify the most appropriate next step. A GP referral is not required to contact or book with the practice.
How it works
01
Book or Enquire
Select an appointment or send a brief enquiry so we can understand what you are looking for.
02
Before Your Appointment
You may be asked to complete relevant forms or provide previous reports before the appointment. This helps your clinician prepare with the information they need.
03
Assessment
Your clinician will take time to understand what has been happening, relevant history and what you would like to clarify. The assessment process may vary depending on the clinical question and type of appointment.
04
Clinical Thinking & Recommendations
Once the relevant information has been gathered, your clinician will explain their clinical thinking and discuss the most appropriate next steps.
05
Follow-Up, Where Needed
This may include further assessment, medication review, ongoing psychiatric care or liaison with another professional.
IN-PERSON & ONLINE
Attend in Edinburgh or online.
Edinburgh Psychiatry offers both in-person and online consultations. Availability varies by clinician, appointment type and clinical circumstances, and will be made clear at the time of booking.
In-person appointments take place at our clinic at 10A St Colme Street in central Edinburgh.

PROFESSIONAL REFERRALS
Refer for specialist psychiatric assessment and care.
We welcome enquiries from GPs, psychologists and other clinicians seeking psychiatric assessment, treatment, a second opinion or collaborative clinical input.
To make a referral, please email hello@edinburghpsychiatry.com with a brief outline of the reason for referral and your contact details. Our team will advise on the most appropriate next step and, where needed, how to share further clinical information securely.
GP & PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION
A GP referral is not required to contact or book with the practice, although we are happy to accept one. With your consent, we can share relevant letters and updates with your GP or other professionals involved in your care. Any shared-care arrangement for medication remains at the GP’s discretion.
