Dr Olivia Lyster

I am a doctor specialising in psychiatry, currently practising within NHS general adult services, providing community based psychiatric care including intensive home treatment. I work with individuals presenting with a wide range of mental health difficulties, including mood and anxiety disorders, psychosis, trauma related presentations, and neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD. I also have experience in old age psychiatry, supporting patients with both functional mental health difficulties and cognitive disorders such as dementia, contributing to a broad and well rounded clinical perspective.

I take a thoughtful, compassionate and person-centred approach, with a strong emphasis on understanding each individual within the context of their life experiences. I aim to create a calm, collaborative space where patients feel genuinely heard, understood and supported in making meaningful, sustainable changes to their wellbeing.

I have a particular interest in mood disorders, emotional regulation, and supporting individuals to develop practical strategies that translate into meaningful improvements in day to day life. Alongside my clinical work, I undertake medicolegal assessments. I am also the founder of Higher, a doctor designed digital platform focused on emotional wellbeing.
